Dunhuang is a city located in China’s northwestern Gansu Province, on the very edge of the Gobi Desert. It was an important city in the history of the Silk Road as it was situated at the intersection of all three Silk Roads.

Sorry for the blurry photo! It was the only one I found of our hotel’s front entrance. As the temperature there at night was below freezing temperatures, having hot pot as our dinner was ideal. Lamb and veal was the most popular there.
Xue Rengui (薛仁貴)
This was the statue of the famous general, Xue Rengui.
