Quote Of The Day: Who Are The Strong People?

I respect people who work hard to life others up, especially super busy parents who teach out and support other parents like themselves.

There are many critics out there thinking that they are being honest and giving others so-called “constructive criticism” when actually they are only emphasizing other’s shortcomings to highlight their own success.

We need to work together to lift each other up to go higher!

  1. I agree. 🙂 I believe that when criticism actually comes from good intentions, it doesn’t put anyone down or make them feel bad or hurt. If that happens then you’re just being a jerk and nothing else… it isn’t straight forwardness it is in fact rudeness. And people need to understand the difference.

  2. Exactly, Vivian! When criticism is offered with generosity and in humility, it’s valuable. In the spirit of, “I’d like to help you avoid the mistakes I made.”

Al too often, though, it feeds from arrogance, an attempt to burnish one’s own image. Worthless, really, as the critic is focused on himself, not on the other.

In a way, a species of the old observation, “Character is defined as what you do when you think no-one is watching.”
