The winter weather is very dry.
I often notice that my hands get very dehydrated, while my daughter’s eczema begins to react. The eczema used to be quite awful, but now that she is older, as long as she has the right moisturizer, then it can be controlled.
Satya is one of the moisturizers that helps fight our dryness. It is made of only five ingredients:
Organic Calendula Petals
Organic Cold Pressed Sweet Almond Oil
Organic Bees Wax
Organic Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil
Organic Colloidal Oatmeal
Mother’s Frustrations
This moisturizer was developed out of a mother’s love for her child:
“It started with a need. My baby girl, Esme, was scratching her arms and legs bloody. The doctor said it was eczema and prescribed a steroid cream. I knew there had to be another solution, so I started looking at what was on the market shelves. It had to be effective, non toxic, fragrance free, with scientifically supported research. I couldn’t find anything good enough.
I started looking into existing medical research, traditional medicine, as well as the latest studies coming out of universities. Soon, I was experimenting in my kitchen crock pot and, developed a balm that cleared Esme’s eczema up in two days. Satya Organic Eczema Relief was born!” —Founder, Patrice.
As a mother of a child with eczema, I understood the frustrations and the feelings of despair as I watched my poor toddler scratched till she bled. Recalling the feelings of guilt and blame, as somehow I was my fault that she had this skin condition. Food allergies were ruled out, and finally, I noticed what her triggers were—stress. Whenever she was anxious, worried or upset, her hands would creep up to her elbows and begin scratching. So when you combine this emotional state with the dry weather, it can get nasty.
Luckily, I studied nutrition for many years so I was able to help her. Now, she is almost my height and am able to care for her own health.
I am happy to have discovered Satya!
I too suffer from eczema and keep it under control with the Avene range of products. During the winter months I find I have to lather it on more thickly and my skin just drinks it up. Luckily you found something that helps your daughter.

Just checked and they’re a Canadian based company 😦 Shipping across the border is stupid expensive. I hope this helps you and your family!

I have periodically struggled with eczema, and it really does seem like simple but natural recipes are the best. I used to use Bert’s Bees Carrot Cream when I was young, but I think they stopped making it. I’m glad Satya’s moisturizer helps you and your daughter. Thanks for sharing!
