The Grateful Heart Tag

It’s November! For my friends in the States, Thanksgiving Day is coming up. I had missed last month’s Pumpkin Tag… so here goes! Thank you DollfacedWriter for tagging me…,

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who tagged you and link their post to yours.
2. Link the original post so the creators can read them.
3. Use the original featured image and include it in your post.
4. Copy and paste the meaning of the tag into your post.
5. Answer the questions.
6. Tag at least TWO people.
7. Have fun and enjoy the rest of your month!

The Meaning of this Tag:

“Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart.” -Zig Ziglar

Here are the questions:

1. What is your worst Thanksgiving memory?
2. Is there anyone in your life, living or non-living, that you never got to thank for something but wish you could? If yes, who and why?
3. White potatoes, red potatoes, gold potatoes, or sweet potatoes?
4. White meat, dark meat, tofu, or no meat?
5. Pumpkin or pecan pie? (If neither, tell us your favorite!)
6. If you celebrate Christmas, do you put the tree up before or after Thanksgiving? If you don’t celebrate Christmas, are there other traditions you have for the holidays?
7. Black Friday is coming! Do you like stores to open on Thanksgiving? Do you participate at all? In-store or online?
8. What is your best or favorite Thanksgiving memory?

My Answers:

1. What is your worst Thanksgiving memory?None, perhaps overly dry turkey?

2. Is there anyone in your life, living or non-living, that you never got to thank for something but wish you could? If yes, who and why?

My grade 6 teacher….I was in a split class of grade 6 and 7…. she encouraged us to challenge ourselves. So, I went ahead and finished grade 7 Math and English by the time I reached grade 7…..

She also taught my about Improv. Doing Improv, made me braver and to step out of my comfort zone. This skill helped me a lot as I got older.

3. White potatoes, red potatoes, gold potatoes, or sweet potatoes?

I love all potatoes! Fries, scalloped, mashed!

4. White meat, dark meat, tofu, or no meat?

Dark meat

5. Pumpkin or pecan pie? (If neither, tell us your favorite!)

Pumpkin

6. If you celebrate Christmas, do you put the tree up before or after Thanksgiving? If you don’t celebrate Christmas, are there other traditions you have for the holidays?

I put up the tree in December.

7. Black Friday is coming! Do you like stores to open on Thanksgiving? Do you participate at all? In-store or online?

I shop online.

8. What is your best or favorite Thanksgiving memory?

I just love hanging out with my cousins.

What are you planning to do for Thanksgiving?

  1. Putting the tree up before Thanksgiving is blasphemy to me. I put mine up the first relatively free day I have in December, although it’s a small plastic tree (6 feet, I think?) and I usually leave it assembled in a corner of the garage, so it only takes about 15 minutes to put it up.

And it infuriates me the way that the term Black Friday has lost its meaning, and how retailers try to pretend that it’s a positive day to be celebrated rather than the dark day it was originally seen as. https://www.dictionary.com/e/black-friday/
