Chocoviv is my name and chocolate is my game. Ever since I can remember, I have always been in love with chocolate. Even as a small child, I am quite expressive about my chocolate. The type of chocolate that I am craving and savouring, reflects how I feel inside. Chocolate is in my soul. So when Ross Chocolates reaches out and asks if I want to try their sugar-free chocolate candy bars…..
🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫
Sugar-free? Chocolate
The Ross chocolate candy bars were “made with love, not sugar” is their motto. Actually, the sweetener in the ingredient list consists of erythritol and stevia. According to Wikipedia, “Erythritol is a sugar alcohol food additive. It was discovered in 1848 by Scottish chemist John Stenhouse. Erythritol was first isolated in 1852. In 1950 it was found in blackstrap molasses that was fermented by yeast, and it became commercialized as a sugar alcohol in the 1990s in Japan…..Erythritol absorption is not affected by glucose levels, and therefore has great potential to be an effective substitute for sugar in diabetics.”
The other sweetener, Stevia, comes from“the leaves of the plant species Stevia rebaudiana, native to Brazil and Paraguay. The active compounds are steviol glycosides (mainly stevioside and rebaudioside), which have 30 to 150 times the sweetness of sugar.” Stevia is also suitable for diabetics too.
Other Benefits
Here is a list of some other benefits:
• Gluten-free
• Non-GMO
• High in fibre (each chocolate bar contains 7-9 grams of inulin fibre)
• No Maltitol (some people’s stomach may get gassy after ingesting a lot of maltitol)

Types of Chocolate
There are two varieties of chocolate is this collection, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate bars still contain 1 gram of sugar, but dark has none. I find that the milk chocolates ones tend to be softer in texture, whereas the dark ones are harder and slightly bittersweet.
1. Milk Chocolate: With Quinoa, With Lemon Coconut, Original
2. Dark Chocolate: With Hazelnut, With Sea Salt, Original

Yay or Nay?
Personally, my favourite are the milk chocolate varieties with the quinoa and the lemon coconut. I normally like dark chocolate best, but these milk chocolates aren’t as sweet as the conventional ones. Therefore, I like the milk chocolate more. The dark chocolate with sea salt is a great choice for those who enjoy the sweet and sudden bursts of savoury palates.
Thank you, Ross Chocolates for treating this chocoholic to such delights!

I love this! I am currently doing the Keto nutrition so dark chocolate with no sugar is perfect for me. I love the sound of the one with the Sea salt, don’t know this brand, will be on the lookout for it.

These chocolates sound nice! And, interesting that the milk chocolate isn’t as sweet as normal – usually I’m a dark chocolate lady like you, but your review makes me wonder whether I’d prefer the milk…

Both I love. When I am busy, I go with dark chocolate as it makes me more energetic. When I have time, I enjoy white chocolate mindfully 😊

Great article. 😊 I love chocolate, but sadly, because of acid reflux, I can’t eat it anymore. 😪 Out of everything I had to stop eating, I grieve for chocolate the most. What do you know about carob, a chocolate substitute? Been thinking about trying some, but I’m having a hard time finding it. Love your blog. I’ll be back for sure. Congratulations on your new blog. 💜🌷
